Securities of all kinds are also unclaimed property and an asset that we locate recover and return to all types of clients. The recovery and return process for securities is the one area of asset recovery that is handled differently by the state and therefor so must we at Robin Hood ARS.
Securities, stocks, bonds, dividends, annuities and mutual funds are unclaimed assets that may be a portion, or all of an asset claim. Certificates of securities can also be in the contents of safe deposit boxes.
The State's procedure for returning securities once the claim has been approved is to send the returned asset in the form of a check, sent to us the investigator and made out to you the claiment. The claimant is required to sign an agreement with us to pay the investigator fee to Robin Hood ARS when we realease and forward the check to you the client.
Securities in most cases are cashed out by the state for it's market rate when the claim is approved. In some rare instances the state or original holder may have already cashed out the security and what remains is the cash payout. If the security is the contents of a safe deposit box it may be recovered in tact and returned to the claimant to cash out when they so choose.
